Jun Osawa joined IIPS as a research fellow in April 1995. He received M.A. degree in political science from Keio University. Ph.D. Candidate at Keio University. 2004-2006, He served as an analyst (WMD issue) for the Intelligence and Analysis Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MOFA). 2007-2009, he served as a policy planning advisor for the Policy Planning Division, Foreign Policy Bureau, MOFA. 2009, he was appointed a senior research fellow.

Worked as Director of Dusseldorf office, Senior Research Fellow of Europe based in Brussels office, and Director of Invest Japan Promotion Division Headquarters. Seconded to IIPS in 2012.
