Taizo Yakushiji Research Director Vice-President and Professor of Political Science at Keio University. Previously, Professor of Technology Policy at Saitama University. Ushiba Memorial Fellow(1991-92) at DGAP, Bonn and IFRI, Paris. Studied in the US as a Fulbright and Ford Fellow (1970-75). Received Ph.D. in political science from M.I.T., B.A. in history and philosophy of science from the University of Tokyo, and B.S. in electrical engineering from Keio University.

Ryukichi Imai
Distinguished Research Fellow
Ryukichi Imai joined IIPS as a distinguished research fellow in 1991. He received an M.A. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a doctorate in engineering from the University of Tokyo. He has worked as a science reporter for the Asahi Shimbun and served as Ambassador to Kuwait and Mexico. He has been active in disarmament issues since 1980 and served as Ambassador to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva before joining IIPS. His research interests include disarmament, energy, and environmental issues. E-mail.
Shinzo Kobori
Distinguished Research Fellow
Shinzo Kobori joined IIPS as a distinguished research fellow in 1995. He had a 40-year career with Itochu Corporation and has been guest scholar at the Brookings Institution, as well as enjoying a close relationship with RAND Corporation. He is currently a professor at Obirin (Oberlin) University in Tokyo. His research interests include international business and economic issues. E-mail.
